• Occupation. Arthur was a stock broker with a seat on the London Stock Exchange. His office was 180 The Strand, but it no longer exists. He attended a stock exchange school in the Isle of Wight. He won a scholarship to Baliol (Oxford) but did not go.

Arthur married Amy Martha Gigney, daughter of William Gigney and Jane Emma Charge, in 1875. (Amy Martha Gigney was born on 13 May 1854 in St Helena, Africa, died on 16 Jul 1937 in London, England and was buried in Abney Park Cemetery, Hackney, Middlesex, England.)
