William Tinkler on his arrival in Australia settled at Paterson (Tocal).
His grave is at Paterson Church of England cemetry.
He went to work at tocal as a carer for horses. He bought and settled land at Paterson calleng the propertu Potinack (queation the spelling) as this was the name of the property in Ireland he had come from. It is reported he grew his own grapes and made wine for his needs. Transport of crops was by barge down the Hunter River.
